Salvage of drilling rig legs (08/19/2010)

Mammoet Salvage is engaged in an operation to recover the legs of a drilling rig in the South China Sea and take them ashore. The oil rig was damaged in last year’s North East Monsoon and the module was salvaged instantly. The legs are being retracted from the seabed and the operation is in full progress now. For the retraction and recovery operation Mammoet Salvage has teamed up with JRI Resources from Malaysia and will deploy a spread mainly consisting of a dive- and accommodation barge, their own 330 ft lifting barge equipped with our certified deck tackle and chain pulling system, capable of developing 2400 Te retraction force and a 500 Te floating sheerlegs for loading the recovered legs onto the transport barge.

Mammoet Salvage successfully refloats grounded Bulker in the River Plate (03/17/2010)

After the successful deep water cargo recovery operation in 2009, Mammoet Salvage continued its southern operations with the refloating of a 75476 DWT Bulk carrier. Loaded to the maximum draft restriction for the Parana River, the vessel was loaded with 52,000 GMT of Iron Ore, before she suffered engine problems and run aground in the River Plate at Punta Indio in January 2010.

Mammoet Salvage immediately dispatched a salvage team and obtained all permits within 24 hours.

Star Energy salvage operation (09/28/2009)

A jack-up rig in the Southern North Sea, was making preparations to abandon the Esmond 43/13a-5 well. During this operation the 30”casing pipe was cut to retrieve it. While pulling the 30”casing something went wrong and the casing and Texas Deck (auxiliary deck suspended below the rig floor) were lost and sank to the bottom of the sea.

Salvage of TSC Supreme (09/07/2009)

Last July Mammoet Salvage was awarded the salvage contract regarding the sunken 730 mT supply vessel "TSC Supreme". This vessel sunk after she collided with a gas production platform.

Mammoet Salvage deals with burning tanker (08/19/2009)

19 August 2009
Mammoet Salvage, based in Schiedam, the Netherlands, has started the salvage operation of the Formosaproduct Brick. This product tanker, with a length of 228.5 meters, is on fire in the Straits of Malacca, 20 miles from Port Dickson, Malaysia. The tanker, carrying 58,000 tons of highly flammable naphtha, collided with the Ostende Max bulk carrier on 18 August. The collision led to a fire on the Formosaproduct Brick and 9 of its crew of 25 are still missing. After extinguishing the fire and stabilizing the ship, Mammoet Salvage will tow the tanker to a safe port.

Successful recovery of gold and silver concentrate by Mammoet Salvage (08/05/2009)

PRESS RELEASE
Mammoet Salvage recently managed to recover 9.5 tons of gold and silver mineral concentrate from the Polar Mist. The ship and its valuable cargo sank on 16 January 2009, 40 miles from the coast of southern Argentina, in a water depth of 80 meters.

Mammoet’s innovative deep water salvage operation in Canada (06/03/2009)

Mammoet Salvage recently recovered a fuel truck loaded with diesel and a cabinet containing lube oil from Robson Bight near Vancouver Island in Canada. The challenging project, in a water depth of 360 meters, was completed on time and well within budget.

Where:  45°18'53.57"N; 14°28'50.07"E; Rijeka, Croatia;
Specs: length 153.6 m, beam: 35.2m, height: 14.2 m, approx. weight: 6500 tons

Dry dock № 7 sank at the Viktor Lenac Shipyard after a unsuccessful attempted to refloat it. The dock has to be removed.
